It was after my third weekend away that I recognize how much life seem to be on the upswing.
Thank goodness. The weekend was filled with laughter, honest conversation, delicious food, new people, a win from the Jayhawks, and cooing babies. Indescribable bliss.
"New Aunt" K.N.K. is definitely the best sister of the year--devoting dozens of hours to childcare for her nieces. In my time away she's become astonishingly domestic--delighting in the cooking and cleaning sorts of household tasks. And when she is not being entertained by her nieces or folding laundry for her fiance, she finds time to excel in grad school. The best way to describe it, K.N.K. is experiencing a honeymoon period with life. She's entered a new chapter (possibly a new story) and seems to be loving life anew.
Can you really blame her? Being a witness to the first year of life is an amazing journey.
