This little chatterbox provides non-stop commentary on life.
During morning nature time:
The beautiful breezy spring weather is fading out and the unbearably humid South Carolina heat is moving in. On a particularly wet morning I was teaching sweet little H the term muggy. Upon learning this word he proclaimed in his most ridiculous southern accent, "Da grass be mug. Da trees are mugged. Ev-wee-bod-dee gun get mugged."
While playing:
During an unusually long session of side walk chalk my creativity was dwindling. Leave it up to my favorite little nature enthusiast... his idea, "aphids!"
Reflections on the large gatherings:
H was eating the remnants of Baby Girl's cake when he asked, "When are da people go-wing to come? I'm excited for the par-tee!" This was following the overwhelming, at 2.5 years old, party, throughout which H had kept mostly to himself (or declared my lap HIS property).
Outdoor bedtime stories:
The finale to a long day of celebrating and one too many episodes of Diego the family plus babysitter were gathered on the porch for a bat viewing. H glares through the view of the binoculars and shouts, "da bats need our help!"
Every scene is so precious. This big-eyed, long-eyelashed lovebug melts my heart.
